Appeal a development or subdivision decision

Submit an appeal

Submit the completed Notice of Appeal and appeal fee by the appeal deadline. Submission instructions are on the Notice of Appeal form. 

Your appeal is incomplete without the appeal fee. You may provide your credit card information to Legislative Services at 403-948-8800 (ext 8816) or pay in-person at City Hall.

Written submissions before a hearing

Written evidence for a hearing must be submitted by noon on the deadline given in the Notice of Hearing. Your written submission must state whether you are in favour of or against the appeal. You may submit your written evidence by:

  • email to;
  • mail to 400 Main Street SE, Airdrie, AB, T4B 3C3; or
  • hand delivery to the drop box located at the front doors of City Hall.

Verbal presentation at the hearing

If you wish to make a virtual presentation to the Board at a hearing, please register with the Clerk of the Board:

You must provide your name and address and whether you wish to speak in favour of or against the appeal.
Before the hearing commences, you must send the Board a digital copy of any photographs, diagrams, reports, etc. used in your presentation. If you do not, the hearing process may be delayed.

Attend a hearing

Subdivision and Development Appeal Board hearings are open to the public.

As of February 22, 2022, public hearings are held in-person in Council Chambers at City Hall and virtually via Microsoft Teams.

If you wish to attend virtually, contact the Clerk of the Board at to obtain a link to the Microsoft Teams meeting or request the conference dial-in number and conference ID to link to the hearing by telephone only.
