Hello-to-Go service changes
Customers will continue to book their trips in advance through the app, online, or on the phone. The difference for customers will be that pick-ups and drop-offs will now take place at a pre-determined location. Your pick-up and drop-off location may be a traditional bus stop with a sign posted, or may be a “virtual” bus stop.
The bus will only pick-up and drop-off customers at existing transit bus stops or virtual bus stops.
Virtual bus stops
A virtual bus stop is a designated location for customer pick-ups and drop-offs. Virtual bus stops do not have items such as traditional bus stop signs or bus benches.
Airdrie Transit has created several virtual bus stops within Airdrie to ensure that your bus stop will be in a convenient and safe location for you!
All pick-up and drop-off locations (both traditional bus stops and virtual bus stops) can be viewed by clicking the Transit Map below:
New pick-up procedure
Once you enter your trip details, the app will allow you to select the ride you would like to book. The app will provide customers with their pick-up location and an estimated pick-up time.
Customers will need to be waiting at their pick-up location at the beginning of their pick-up window, to prevent missing the bus. For example, a pickup window of 9:00am-9:15am, you must be at your bus stop prepared to board the bus at 9:00am.
Customers can track their ride, while they wait, using the Hello-to-Go app. The app will also provide customers with updates on arrival times. When your ride is getting close, the app sends you a text message!
Once the bus arrives, the maximum time the bus will wait for you at your pick-up location is one minute.
This service change will allow Airdrie Transit to operate more efficiently, while still connecting communities that currently do not have transit service. We appreciate your patience as we make these changes to provide efficient and sustainable transportation options for Airdrie residents.
