Performance and event space rentals at Bert Church LIVE Theatre

Bert Church LIVE Theatre has a variety of spaces available for community events and performances, to serve conferences, classes, meetings and receptions. The facility includes a 377 seat theatre, a modern lobby with bar, complete backstage amenities, an intimate green room and a black box theatre space.

The auditorium is available to rent on weekends and after 5 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays. The lobby and black box space also has weekday rental availability.

Performance and event space rental rates

Full facility rentals at the Bert Church LIVE Theatre support performances with large audiences and include the stage, auditorium, lobby, multi-purpose room and downstairs dressing room. Black box space rentals are appropriate for audiences of approximately 50 people. Auditorium only rentals are available for rehearsals.

The following items are included in performance and event space rental rates and are available when requested when booking: projector, gobo hang, drum riser, choir riser, follow spot, table linens (black spandex).

The following items are required to secure a booking at the theatre:

377 seats with technical booth and stage. A dressing room with male and female designated washrooms. The dressing room provides a main cross over for the stage.

The multi-purpose room and performance area is adjoined to the Bert Church Theatre lobby but will be separated with a partition wall. Public washrooms are available. No other facility space is included.

Rental staffing

Bert Church LIVE Theatre rentals include customer service representatives for the Box Office, ushers and a bartender as needed.

Due to the unique requirements of every show, technical support will be determined by the theatre's technical lead and additional charges may be required.

Ticketing services

All tickets for events at Bert Church LIVE Theatre must be sold through the in-house ticket system. Standard handling and service fees apply to all tickets.

Requests for ticketing services must be made separately from booking requests and a minimum of two-weeks prior to the anticipated ticket sale date. Ticketing services will be programmed following contract signing.

Important ticketing information

The City is not responsible for the advertising, promotion or the success of the ticket sales for any event.
The final revenue remitted equals the base price plus GST times the number of tickets sold. Payment is delivered within four-weeks of the signing of the financial settlement agreement.
