Built out of a deep appreciation for the city in which they grew up, 948 Brewing co-founders Kyle Wudrich and Dave Schroter have turned their craft brewery into a hub of community spirit and connection. From the clothing in their merch line to the labels on their cans, the city of Airdrie is reflected all around the taproom and wherever 948 Brewing is represented.
“948 is the original telephone prefix for Airdrie phone numbers, and we are proud to name our brewery after three numbers that connected our city for so many years.”
With a small brewing system, 948 Brewing can be more versatile with their beers, pumping out on average two new brews every month. With that level of variety, there is always something new to try at every visit! The taproom provides an intimate space in which to experience their vast beer selection, or if you are in a hurry, the cooler is always stocked with this month’s favourites. Don’t forget the local snacks to satisfy all your cravings.
For a truly distinctive taste of Airdrie’s history, you must try their Belgian series that follows the evolution of the city. Starting with the 1889 Siding Belgian Blonde (reflective of Airdrie’s beginning as a train stop), it’s the first step of the beer journey with a smooth flavour with notes of banana and citrus. Next up is the 1909 Village Belgian Dubbel – where Airdrie grows into a village, and the beer does too. A little bigger and a little bolder, with lots of caramel malts. The 1974 Town Belgian Tripel is the highest alcohol content, with vanilla and banana on the nose and finishing with crisp apple. Rumour has it that the Belgian Quad is in the works for the transformation into a city so stay tuned!

Atlas Brewing, opened up shop in November 2021 with a plethora of well-balanced offerings sure to please any palate. Master Brewer Michael Phipps has been homebrewing for over 30 years and is now bringing his over 100 original and perfected recipes to the brewery. Combining Greek mythology with a passion for beer, Atlas Brewing incorporates storytelling into each and every brew.
“In Greek mythology, Atlas was a titan condemned to hold up the celestial heavens for eternity. As a symbol of strength and endurance, Atlas represents two of the quintessential qualities of a brewer.”
While they may be the newest kids on the block, they have already established themselves among the community, supporting a variety of local businesses and hosting special events at the brewery (including Latin night when you can learn how to salsa and enjoy an evening of social dancing). Being a family-oriented establishment, they even have special events just for the kids.
Feeling peckish? Grab some popcorn from the bar, or order from one of their restaurant partners located nearby.

With a small but mighty brewing system, Atlas Brewing is serving up a big selection of brews for everyone to enjoy. Lots of crowd pleasers (like their Silenus Pale Ale), some more experimental (like Demeter’s Sorrow, a black witbier with coriander), and lots of bright flavours can be found among their taps. Not sure what to try? Order a flight (6 small glasses) and give more than one a try! Not really into beer? They also have an Apple Pie Cider that they make in house or try the orange lactose radler that they brewed in collaboration with 948 Brewing.

With a lifetime of worldly experiences, the award-winning Balzac Craft Brewing sets out to tell a story with every beer that they create. Born of a conversation about creating a legacy of following their dreams instead of living for the status quo, their beers reflect the flavours and locations of those globe-trotting memories. They set out to create a welcoming environment where customers can have fun and relax while enjoying premium, house-made beer, and that is exactly what they have done.
The taproom is reminiscent of an English-style pub, lending itself to be a regular stop any day of the week, rather than just a special occasion location. The atmosphere is always kid and pet friendly, making it a great choice for families as well as solo travellers. They even have dog treats made from their spent grain available so Fido can have a great time too. From the local area? Gather some friends and sign up for their Darts League. With plenty of seating both inside and out, there is always room to make new friends. You can even bring your own foods to cook over the outside firepits!

Solutions Brewing was founded by three friends who have been homebrewing for more than 10 years. After meeting at a Stampede party, they became fast friends and began, jokingly at first, to talk about starting their own brewery. Three years later, Solutions Brewing was born.
The name “Solutions Brewing” and their slogan “No Problems, Just Solutions” stems from the founder’s original career paths. In their former fields of engineering and computer science, it was part of their day to day work to solve problems that they would come across. It is also a play on words that alcohol is chemically a solution and was also inspired by a famous Homer Simpson quote in The Simpsons episode about prohibition where he raises a glass at the end of the episode and says: “To Alcohol! The cause of, and solution to, all life’s problems”.
Beer is meant to be fun and enjoyed socially. That’s why the team at Solutions enjoys experimenting with ingredients and recipe formulation, bringing their best creations to you. In February 2023, they built their own nano scale production space where they can produce 50L batches making it possible to take orders online with delivery direct to your doorstep. The small batch size makes it simple to try new recipes in short order or to make custom beers for your special event.
