Proclamations and City Hall illuminations are ceremonial ways for the City to honour, celebrate, or create awareness of an event, person, or significant issue within the community.

Mayor Spearman made the following proclamations/illuminations:

• April 19 to April 25, 2026 as National Volunteer Week in Airdrie, to recognize and encourage volunteerism within our community; 
• May 16, 2026 will illuminate City Hall in green lights for Celiac Awareness Day; and
• May 2026 as Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) and Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP) Awareness Month.
