Tree chipping

Bring your real Christmas tree to the Recycle Depot, where it will be chipped into mulch for use in City parks.

Before you drop it off:

Remove all lights, ornaments and decorations.
No tree bags, branches, leaves or wreaths accepted.

Drop-off dates:

Dec. 27 – Jan. 31 at the Recycle Depot.
After Jan. 31, real trees can be taken to the Transfer Site for free until the first Saturday in March.

Or reuse it at home:

Cut your tree into sections and drill holes in the trunk to create a natural habitat for insects and birds in your backyard. It’s a great way to give your tree a second life.

Broken lights? Fake tree?

Broken holiday lights can be brought to the Recycle Depot to be recycled.

Artificial trees can be reused, donated or brought to the Transfer Site for disposal for a fee.
