Subdivision and Development Appeal Board (SDAB)

The Subdivision and Development Appeal Board (SDAB) is an independent quasi-judicial board made up of six citizen representatives and one Council representative. The SDAB handles appeals of the decisions of the Municipal Planning Commission (MPC) or of the approving authority regarding development permit or subdivision applications.

Complaints about other issues; If you have a complaint that does not relate the appeal of a development permit or a subdivision application, please send your complaint details to Legislative.Services@airdrie.ca or call 403.948.8800, ext. 8816. We will either help you with your issue or direct you to the correct City department.

Upcoming appeal hearings

Upcoming appeals for development permit or subdivision applications are brought forward as public hearings. Hearings are held on an 'as required basis' and must be held within 30 days of the receipt of an appeal. Hearings are usually one to two hours in length. Members of the public can attend virtually or in person in Council Chambers.
