Subdivision & Development Appeal Board

The Subdivision and Development Appeal Board (SDAB) is a quasi-judicial board made up of six citizen representatives and one Council representative.

The SDAB handles appeals to the decisions of the Municipal Planning Commission (MPC) or approving authority regarding development permit or subdivision applications.


Members are appointed annually by Council at the organizational meeting in October.

Hearings are held on an as required basis and must be held within 30 days of the receipt of an appeal. Hearings are usually one to two hours in length.



How to file an appeal

Complete a 'Notice of Appeal' form.

Submit your form and pay the associated appeal fee prior to the appeal deadline (published in the newspaper and here on the City's website).
