Accepted material
Excess household waste, bulky items, appliances with refrigerant, scrap metal, yard waste, and renovation materials like drywall, shingles, and wood are accepted.
Facility use
The Transfer Site is a collection point for residential waste and home renovation materials. Material is taken to landfill and recycling sites in the Calgary area.
- The Transfer Site is cashless - we accept Debit, Mastercard and VISA.
- Rocky View County tag-a-bag tickets and Airdrie excess waste tags are not accepted.
- Secure and tie down all material when bringing it to the Transfer Site. A $10 discount will be applied to full loads that are properly secured by either a tarp, net, straps or similar device in such a manner that the material is not released from the truck during travel.
- Attendants will evaluate the load and charge rates according to items and size of load.
- Unload materials into designated areas according to material type.
- Ask the attendant if you have any questions.
- Make sure to arrive with enough time to unload all materials before the site closes.
- The site is drop-off only — do not remove items from the Transfer Site.
- Business use of the transfer site is not permitted.

**Secured load means a truck load of residential household waste and incinerator material contained by either a tarp, net, straps, or similar device in such a manner that the residential household waste and incinerator material is not released from the truck during travel.
While travelling within Rocky View County their bylaw states, every person who transports litter on a highway by any means, including but not limited to transportation in or on a motor vehicle, trailer or other device, shall ensure that the litter is adequately contained, secured or covered to prevent it from falling off or being blown off while being transported. Fines range from $500 to $10,000 and imprisonment.
Business use of the Transfer Site
Business use of the transfer site is not permitted.
City of Airdrie recycling facilities (including the Airdrie Transfer Site) are subsidized through an environmental fee paid by Airdrie and Rocky View residents (additional fees apply at the Transfer Site).
