Regular Meetings of all Council Boards and Committees have been cancelled until further notice. These include: Municipal Planning Commission, Environmental Advisory Board, Community Services Advisory Board and Municipal Policing Advisory Board
Regular Council meetings will continue to be held, unless otherwise posted.
**Change to Public Question Period for Council Meetings**
As a result of changes to public meetings due to COVID-19, Public Question Period will only be conducted by correspondence. Residents can now submit their questions to Council by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by regular mail at 400 Main Street SE, Airdrie AB T4B 3C3. Submissions must be able to be read within the five minute time limit.
Watch Live Council meetings at www.airdrie.ca/livecouncil. Once a council meeting has ended, you'll be able to view a complete video recording linked to that meeting's council agenda. Council meetings which occurred prior to September 18, 2017 have been archived on YouTube.
City Council meetings are held on the first and third Mondays of each month, starting at 1:30 p.m. (open to the public at 3:30 p.m.) in Council Chambers at City Hall. If the Monday is a statutory holiday the meeting will be held on Tuesday.
Council agendas are posted either Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning, prior to the meeting.
The Council calendar (below) is set annually and includes the schedule for Council's boards, committees and commissions.
Please note that Council meetings are videostreamed. By attending a meeting and entering Council Chambers, you are giving your consent to be videotaped and waiving any and all claims regarding the use of your image.
Here’s a look at how a typical Council meeting runs:
1:30 p.m. – In camera session (closed to the public)
3:30 p.m. – Meeting opens for general public viewing
6 p.m. – ALL public input sessions, including Public Question Period and Public Hearings
Members of the public are encouraged to participate.
