The cemetery dates back to the early 1900s and has many early settlers from the area interred here.
The Airdrie cemetery offers approximately five acres of beautifully manicured grounds along with the brand new construction of an arbor surrounding the Columbaria, which give families a sense of peace and tranquillity.
The Parks department maintains the City cemetery and manages lot purchasing and burial schedules. Please see the schedule of fees under documents at the bottom of the page for prices and services provided.
The City of Airdrie offers single depth burial lots which accommodate one interment. Up to eight cremation urns may be added depending on the size of the lot as well as the size of the urn(s). Only one interment is permitted in a single traditional grave, with the exception of a parent and infant child in one casket.
The Parks department requires 72 hours notice before the scheduled burial service is to take place.
As all graves have a settlement period. The Parks department typically does sodding on graves that have settled every spring.
If you have questions or concerns regarding the condition of your loved one's grave, please do not hesitate to contact the Parks department.
The City of Airdrie Cemetery offers a cremation burial section. This area offers families the option of interring four standard urns separately in one single cremation lot. Each cremation lot may also accommodate two companion urns.
Over the years, columbaria have become a popular interment alternative to traditional burial.
A columbarium is a structure which accommodates cremation urns. The three columbaria at the Airdrie cemetery are round dome units and have granite tablets which are constructed of 3/4" natural black granite slabs and may be engraved to the family's liking.
These niches serve a similar purpose to that of a grave site monument and becomes a place for family and loved ones to visit and pay their respects.
Some niches may accommodate up to two regular size urns. Please contact the Parks department to ensure proper dimensions prior to purchasing urn(s).
