Regardless of where, when, or how a mobile vendor intends to operate, the business will require varying licenses, permits, and approvals before opening their doors. Your business is not permitted to open until you receive these approvals.

Planning approval/permits
Your business will require approval and/or additional permits from the City of Airdrie Current Planning department.

DECLARATION FORM | A yearly declaration form is required for most mobile vendor businesses. This declaration form requires the applicant to acknowledge and agree to the Land Use Bylaw regulatory requirements for mobile vendor businesses. This will require a Letter of Authorization from the landowner. The applicant can either email the completed form to planning@airdrie.ca or drop off in-person at City Hall located at 400 Main Street S.
There is no fee for this approval. |
DEVELOPMENT PERMIT (Variance Application) |
If the Declaration Form is not deemed exempt, a variance development permit is required. The applicant can either email the completed form to planning@airdrie.ca or drop off in-person at City Hall located at 400 Main Street S. There is a fee of $500 + $150 for each additional location you wish to add to your approval. |
As part of the building and occupancy permit process, a fire inspection is required to ensure all fire code requirements are met. This includes providing all required verification documents.

Mobile vendors wishing to operate on Airdrie roadways now require a Mobile Vendor Street Permit, in addition to a City of Airdrie business licence.
This change was implemented as part of an update to the STREETS BYLAW B-09/2024, approved by City Council on June 4, 2024.
