The Art of Community celebrates accomplished Airdrie artists whose impact extends beyond the work they create.

The artists represented in this exhibition are recognized not only for their individual artistic practices and contributions, but for their commitment to advancing opportunities for artists across Airdrie. United by a belief that a strong arts community is built through visibility, collaboration and connection, they came together to help establish the inaugural Airdrie ArtWalk—a newly launched annual arts festival dedicated to showcasing visual art and strengthening the presence of artists within the city.

Works showcased as part of 'In Plain Sight' exhibit were selected as work that represented:

"Work that emerges from attentive observation and quiet contemplation of the everyday, its surroundings and the objects within. Artworks emerged from close looking and attention to detail while they highlight the moments of wonder within the mundane and curiosity within the commonplace."
