Airdrie City Plan

The City of Airdrie's new Municipal Development Plan, called the The Airdrie City Plan was adopted by Council on September 15 2014. The Airdrie City Plan, is a long range, strategic plan that sets direction for new development through the whole city.

The plan helps City Council make decisions regarding:

  • future land use
  • protection of the natural environment
  • transportation needs
  • infrastructure & servicing needs
  • land supply for commercial and industrial development

The new City Plan builds upon the AirdrieOne plan and provides more detail on sustainable land use, growth management and neighbourhood development. The plan will help Airdrie manage growth and development into the future and address the city's much expanded land base.
