Osborne pre-medical simulation lab demonstration

Airdrie Alberta – Friday, December 16, 2022, the Airdrie Fire Department (AFD) hosted a Simulation (SIM) Lab demonstration at the Chinook Winds Firehall for philanthropist, Tracy Osborne and Council members. The new lab provides realistic skill development for Airdrie Firefighters, preparing them to interact with patients to provide advanced lifesaving procedures in a crisis.

The event recognizes the ‘Made-in-Airdrie Solution’ generated by Tracy Osborne which was approved by Council at the March 7, City of Airdrie Council meeting. With the help of Ms. Osborne’s donation, the high-fatality hands-on full simulation lab will be used in the new year for training.

Airdrie Firefighters showcased the new equipment and lab training capabilities for Tracy Osborne, Kevin Weinberger Director of Community Growth and Protection, Deputy Mayor Heather Spearman, Councillor Ron Chapman and Councillor Tina Petrow. They watched demonstrations and were encouraged to interact with the different stations.
