June 19, 2023/ FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AIRDRIE, AB – As part of Canada Day celebrations, Airdrie will host a free music concert with award-winning Canadian bands, Kyle McKearney and Nice Horse on July 1, 2023, at Nose Creek Regional Park.

This year, Airdrie will see a series of new activities and events. The day begins with Elder Virgle Stephens’ blessings at the Canada Day pancake breakfast in the Safeway parking lot, followed by the annual favourites including the parade, Airdrie Pro Rodeo and fireworks.

“We are thrilled that we are able to feature top Canadian talent who have strong connections to Airdrie. I’d like to thank the department of Canadian heritage, Government of Canada, for their funding support and our many community partners for their work to create what will be an unforgettable celebration,” said Mayor Peter Brown.

The free music concert is set to take place at the Nose Creek Regional Park amphitheatre after the parade. There will be a beverage garden and food trucks at the park, and residents are invited to bring lawn chairs and enjoy the show.

Residents can also expect the biggest fireworks show yet at Chinook Winds Regional Park. Walking, cycling, ridesharing and using e-scooters to get to the fireworks show is encouraged. City of Airdrie transit will offer a free bus ride as part of their shuttle service. Residents can park and ride at the South Transit Terminal, 2985 Main Street South.
