Have your say in the City of Airdrie’s budget survey!

Airdrie, August 18 – The City of Airdrie is reaching out to their property taxpayers for feedback on 2024 budget priorities through an online survey.

This is the City’s first online budget engagement tool. It will provide Council valuable information on what Airdrie residents consider important when deliberating the 2024 budget. It will draw a community perspective on municipal services and capital projects that Council will consider along with the many other factors and provincial obligations that they must weigh in on.

“We are very excited to launch a new annual survey that gives residents an opportunity to have your say on municipal services. Community feedback is one of the most important pieces of information Council uses in budget decisions.” said Shannon Schindeler, Director, Corporate Services & CFO

The budget survey is interactive. Participants can move a slider to increase or decrease funding to each service area and then view the potential impact on their property tax bill and the services received. The anonymous data they submit indicates their priorities around spending and services.

Although the City is excited about the release of the new budget survey tool, this is just one method that we’ll be using this year to get feedback on the budget. Engagement sessions were held at the City’s booth in the April Home & Lifestyle show and the public will have further engagement opportunities at AirdrieFEST in September.
