On October 16, 2023, Airdrie City Council endorsed the principles of a new Council Committee structure and implementation timelines, which will disband the existing Municipal Planning Commission by December 31, 2023.
To support this direction, the Land Use Bylaw must be amended to remove references to the Municipal Planning Commission and reassign the Planning Commission's responsibilities to the City's Development Officer.
