City partners with HelpSeeker for access to social service listings

April 16, 2020 – For Immediate Release

Airdrie AB - The City of Airdrie’s Department of Social Planning has partnered with HelpSeeker to provide residents with another resource to access social and health related service information during COVID-19.

HelpSeeker is a free location-based services network that will allow residents to find the closest, most relevant service for their needs with complete privacy. Organizations listed on HelpSeeker in Airdrie include counseling, addictions, abuse and domestic violence support.

“In addition to the Community Resource page shared on our website, we want to ensure Airdrie residents have up-to-date information about what social and health supports and services are operating during COVID-19. It is our hope that this online platform will connect residents who are in most need, with the supports and services they are looking for,” says Pauline Clark, team leader, social planning.

“It is critical that we continue to look for innovative ways to connect those residents in need,” says Mayor Peter Brown. “My hope is that this option will break down barriers for people who need support during this time”

If residents in need of social service support do not have access to a computer, they can speak with someone directly by contacting North Rocky View Community Links Society at 403.945.3900 or 1.866.945.3905. Agencies or not-for-profit organization currently operating and providing social and health related supports and services in Airdrie during the COVID-19 pandemic interested in signing up with HelpSeeker may contact them directly at info@helpseeker.org.
