AIRDRIE, ALBERTA – On Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at 2:34 a.m., Airdrie Fire Department (AFD) responded to the report of a structure fire located in the 100 Block of Stonegate Close NW.
Upon arrival, fire crews found signs of an exterior fire that had been burning between the fence and a two-storey residence.
Prior to AFD’s arrival, a neighbour had extinguished the fire with a garden hose. Upon investigation fire crews found light smoke showing from the eaves and proceeded to check the home and attic for possible fire extension. Light smoke was noted but there was no active fire within the home.
There were no injuries reported. Five pieces of apparatus and thirteen firefighters were on scene.
The Fire Prevention Bureau continues investigating to determine the cause and final damage estimates.
