AIRDRIE, ALBERTA – On Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 7:12p.m. the Airdrie Fire Department responded to the report of a motor vehicle colliding with a structure in the 2000 block of Reunion Boulevard NW.

On arrival fire crews found a pick-up truck had left the roadway and collided into the rear of a vehicle parked on a residential driveway.

The vehicle struck was then pushed violently forward into the front corner of the attached garage.

The truck then careened and crashed through the closed garage overhead door before striking and badly damaging another vehicle which was parked inside.

A second vehicle in the garage received minor damage from the incident.

Prior to the arrival of fire crews, the driver of the truck had self-extricated and was assessed by AHS paramedics on scene. There were no other injuries reported.

Firefighters, trained in technical rescue, inspected damage to the garage to ensure that it remained structurally sound. Once the area was deemed safe the vehicles inside were removed.

RCMP were on scene conducting their investigation.
