Additional response details:
• Airdrie Fire responded to a four story apartment building where a fire had occurred in one of the suites.
• The fire was extinguished prior to the arrival of AFD crews by the building’s sprinkler system.
• Residents of the building had evacuated safely.
• Several units were heavily damaged due to water from the sprinklers.
• An investigation will be conducted by the Fire Prevention Bureau.
• While crews were on scene at the Canals Crossing incident, additional AFD resources were attending a medical response and alarms call in other areas of the city.
• Crossfield Fire Department provided standby resources.
