General Appeal Board

The General Appeal Board (GAB) is a quasi-judicial board made up of Airdrie residents and a Councillor.

The Board hears appeals from residents and businesses on certain decisions made by City of Airdrie administration. This could include decisions on permits, licences, and other orders for the following:

  • Animal Control
  • Community Standards
  • Drainage
  • Lot Grading
  • Public Conveyance and Vehicles for Hire
  • Security Alarm Systems
  • Sewer
  • Traffic
  • Waste Management

How to file an appeal

Complete and submit a notice of appeal form before the appeal deadline. A non-refundable $150 filing fee is required on or before the final date for appeal. You may submit your appeal in person, by mail or through email.

Once your Notice of Appeal is submitted on time and with the required fee, an appeal hearing will be scheduled by the GAB Clerk within 30 days. You and any other party required to be notified under the Municipal Government Act or relevant City of Airdrie bylaw, if any, will receive a written Notice of Hearing.
