The Airdrie Festival of Lights Society non-profit organization is excited to announce the FortisAlberta Light Up the Night celebration. It will involve a giant “switch” that will turn on the Community Tree lights and then “magically” the rest of the park will follow and light up display by display.
With the illumination of a grand Christmas tree, it signals the start of the holiday season, accompanied by carols and the Airdrie Fire Department supporting the tradition of a Candy Cane Run. This is the kick-off weekend for the amazing non-profit organization, AIRDRIE FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS and runs to December 31.

Visit the parade by bringing main street alive with the spirit of the season, showcasing vibrant floats and enjoying the festive atmosphere. With the procession of twinkling lights and holiday music, the night is illuminated by holiday magic, bringing together the community to celebrate the holidays. Grab hot drinks and dress warm! The parade is hosted by the non-profit organization AIRDRIE PARADES.

Starting at 5 p.m. and presented by the Girl Guides, Advocates for the Airdrie Public Library Society and Second Airdrie.
Road closures will start at Veteran’s Blvd. and end at Ridgegate Way from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Alberta Health Services (AHS) Urgent Care Centre at 604 Main St. SE will remain open during this time. Road closure barricades will be manned by Emergency Responders to escort individuals to Airdrie’s Urgent Care Centre. If you have an emergency, please call 911.

The Airdrie Firefighters will once again face off against RCMP officers in the 5th Annual Charity Hockey Game in support of the Airdrie 1st Club Christmas Hamper Program. This competitive and entertaining game will include guests - Calgary Flames Alumni and Olley & Jacob from "On the Bench". Come cheer them all on!
Game entry will be by donation of gift cards, cash or items which would make great stocking stuffers!
Prior to the event, bright red donation boxes are located in the main vestibules of all three fire station locations (Veterans, King Heights & Chinook Winds Fire Headquarters) to collect any generous public donations of gift cards or stocking stuffers.
