Completion and acceptance certificates
To ensure developments meet municipal standards and are properly closed out, the City of Airdrie uses several key certificates during the lifecycle of a development permit. These permits will display with your permit online through myAIRDRIE when available to complete and submit.
Construction Completion Certificate (CCC)
- After the initial construction of public or private infrastructure is complete, a CCC is required. This certificate confirms that the work has been built to municipal standards.
- A professional engineer must submit a signed and stamped affidavit verifying the construction quality and the City will conduct inspections to verify the work before moving to the next stage.
Development Completion Certificate (DCC)
- Once all required inspections (including CCC and non-engineering elements like landscaping or signage) for your development permit are complete, a DCC can be completed.
- The DCC confirms that all development conditions have been met and triggers the release of performance securities. This serves as the official administrative closure of the permit.
- An alternate DCC pdf version will be available to complete and submit until January 1, 2025.
Final Acceptance Certificate (FAC)
- A FAC is required after the warranty period (typically 24 months) for public infrastructure has passed. The purpose of this is to confirm long-term compliance and that no hidden defects remain.
- A professional engineer must again certify the final condition of the infrastructure. The City will sign and stamp the FAC confirming acceptance of the infrastructure signalling the formal transfer of ownership.
Landscaping Construction Certificate (LCC)
- After landscaping is installed and has gone through the required maintenance period, an LCC confirms that landscaping meets approved plans and is healthy and established and may require an inspection by the City in public areas.
- An alternate LCC pdf version will be available to complete and submit until January 1, 2025.
