Candidate Profile: Usman Mahmood

When I moved from London, England in 2007, I was struck by how resilient Alberta is and how amazing its people are. I built my career as a lawyer advocating for families and businesses, and that same advocacy is what I will bring as Mayor of Airdrie.

For nearly a decade, I have managed my own practice, gaining the discipline and business acumen needed to guide a growing city. My vision is simple: families first. We must cut red tape at City Hall, ensure infrastructure keeps pace with growth, and demand accountability in how tax dollars are spent.

I will fight for healthcare close to home, reliable transportation, and strong recreation facilities. If we want to raise world-class athletes, students, and leaders, Airdrie must provide world-class opportunities, without losing sight of the values that make our city strong.
