Garbage

Place the item in your garbage bag and set it at the curb on your collection day. Each household is allowed one garbage bag per week. Up to three additional bags can be placed with excess garbage tags attached. Excess garbage tags cost $3 each and can be purchased at City Hall, Recycle Depot, Genesis Place, Inspire, various grocery and pharmacy stores in Airdrie. Learn about Garbage

Check for Retailer Recycling Programs

Some products and brands have specialized recycling programs through retailers or third party recyclers. Check retail or product websites for options.

What goes in the blue recycling cart?

All items must be placed LOOSE in your recycling bin except for:

stretchy plastic bags - bundle into one stretchy bag for recycling
shredded paper - put into a securely tied clear bag before placing it in blue cart

Organic material that can break down in the City's eight week composting process.

The Transfer Site is a collection point for residential waste and construction material. Material is taken to landfill and recycling sites in the Calgary area.
