Contractor and vendor procurement opportunities

  • New vendors: if you are new to completing work for the City, you must complete a new vendor form available by emailing our accounts payable department.
  • Business licences: every business, occupation or trade that operates with the intention of making a profit within Airdrie requires a valid City of Airdrie business licence

Formal competitions through MERX

The City is committed to acquiring goods and services that deliver the best value while ensuring equitable treatment for vendors. We strive to maintain public confidence in our procurement practices by upholding integrity, transparency, accountability, efficiency, and consistency throughout the process. When applicable, procurement opportunities are openly posted on the publicly accessible MERX website. 

  • New vendors: Free online MERX registration is available. MERX representatives can also help you set up your profile and match you with relevant opportunities by emailing merx@merx.com or phoning 1.800.964.6379 (Monday to Friday, 5 a.m. to 6 p.m.). When registering, be sure to mention that you are a City of Airdrie vendor to access this free service. MERX resource section is also available with tips on finding and winning business opportunities online.

Leasing opportunities

By leasing within City facilities, you have the opportunity to bring your products and services directly to the community, creating convenient and engaging experiences for residents and visitors. Some facilities that include leasing opportunities include our arenas, Inspire and Chinook Winds Regional Park.

Private contractors

The City offers private contracting for snow clearing contractors. These contractors can apply for a seasonal use of streets permit, which allows residents to hire them for the plowing of residential roads.
