Dec. 15, 2025 / For Immediate Release
Airdrie, AB — The City of Airdrie is reviewing road clearing and winter maintenance services and is asking residents to share their experiences in a short online survey open from Dec. 19 to Jan. 9.
Each winter, City crews clear roads, sidewalks, pathways and outdoor rinks following a priority system that focuses first on major routes, emergency access and school zones. In addition, the City maintains over 100 kilometres of pathways and sidewalk sections adjacent to public property.
“With Airdrie continuing to grow, this survey will help us understand what’s working, where services could change and how residents feel about potential options,” said Mayor Heather Spearman, “Your input is essential in shaping how we manage snow and ice in the coming winters.”
The survey includes questions about snow clearing on roads and pathways, sidewalk responsibilities, outdoor rink maintenance, parking during snow events, sanding and salting and the City’s online snow-clearing map. Residents will also be asked about their willingness to pay for increased service levels if desired changes would raise overall costs.
The survey will take only a few minutes to complete and is open to all Airdrie residents. Your feedback will help shape future snow and ice control services and will be shared with Council as part of the review in the first half of 2026.
The survey will be available at involve.airdrie.ca from Dec. 19 to Jan. 9.
