Phase I of the SW Recreation Centre is planned to open in 2029, following several years of technical studies examining amenity mix, construction phasing and capital funding. As Airdrie’s population continues to grow, planning for the centre has focused on balancing a wide range of community uses, from casual recreation to organized sport.
The studies completed over the past few years provided the foundation needed to sequence the project thoughtfully and sustainability. Phasing the centre allows the City to respond to community priorities while managing constructing timing and cost in a way that supports long-term value for residents and taxpayers.
