  • Learning about City programs and events

This initiative is part of the City’s commitment to improving the customer experience and making services easier to access for all residents.

How the service works

When you call 311, you will be connected with trained customer experience staff who can help you find information quickly.

  • Staff will answer general questions and help direct you to the right place
  • As the service grows, more inquiries will be resolved at the first point of contact
  • During this early stage, there may be times when calls need to be transferred to specific departments for support

Long-term vision

Airdrie 311 is a key component of the City’s shift towards centralized contact centre model, designed to enhance the customer experience and provide consistent, reliable access to City services. Over time, the service will expand to support:

  • Better tracking of service requests
  • Improved coordination across City departments
  • More streamlined communication with residents

Availability

Airdrie 311 is now available to all residents.

Service provider considerations

The City has worked closely with all major telecom providers to ensure that calling 311 from within city limits connects residents to the City of Airdrie. While we are confident most calls will be routed appropriately, there will be instances where callers encounter connection challenges or are directed to Calgary 311 instead.

Situations where this may occur include:

  • Calls made from landlines in a small defined area in Airdrie’s Southwest corridor may not route properly to Airdrie 311 due to network boundaries.
  • Wi-Fi calling may route a call through an out-of-area network, depending on the internet provider and connection source.
  • Mobile devices may connect to a cell tower located outside Airdrie’s boundaries.
  • Calls made from mobile devices near the edge of the city may pick up a stronger signal from a tower outside Airdrie.

If you experience connection issues, you can reach us at our main phone number 403.948.8800.

If you reach Calgary 311, staff there will transfer your call to the City of Airdrie.
