City and Airdrie YES kick-off National Youth Week May 1 – 7, 2026

Airdrie, AB – To celebrate youth in our community, the City of Airdrie and the Airdrie Youth Engagement Strategy Advisory Committee (Airdrie YES), are kicking off National Youth Week with a week full of free activities for youth ages 12 to 17, May 1 - 7, 2026.

“National Youth Week is an important time to celebrate the creativity, passion and potential of young people in our community,” says Mayor Heather Spearman. “Airdrie’s youth contribute so much to the spirit and vibrancy of our city, and this week provides meaningful opportunities for them to connect, participate and explore activities that inspire and empower. We’re excited to see Airdrie’s young residents come together, build connections and create lasting memories.”

This week-long celebration aims to highlight the importance of youth engagement and provide opportunities for young people to connect, learn and have fun. Don't miss out on this exciting lineup of events!

Event Schedule:

Friday, May 1
Teen Night at Genesis Place
Free admission 4 p.m. – close
Youth Fair 4 – 6:30 p.m.
Free access for a night of sports, games, fun and a youth fair featuring local community groups

Saturday, May 2
Teen Carnival Craze
6 – 8 p.m.
Inspire – Airdrie Public Library (main floor)
Registration required

Wednesday, May 6
Spring Palooza with Youth Airdrie
4 – 7 p.m.
Jensen Park
Games, cultural dances, arts and crafts, and cotton candy

Thursday, May 7
Youth Bingo Night
6:30 – 8 p.m.
BCG Airdrie Club
Free youth bingo! Pizza dinner, prizes, candy and more!
