Airdrie Canada Day Parade to take a new route July 1, 2026

April 30, 2026/For immediate release

Airdrie, AB - The City of Airdrie announces a new route for the 2026 Canada Day Parade due to the continued work on the Main Street Rehabilitation Project. The updated route prioritizes safety and operational efficiency while maintaining viewing opportunities for residents.

The 2026 parade will begin at the École Edwards Elementary School, travel South on Jensen Drive and Main Street, continue east along Centre Avenue, finishing at Allen Street and 1st Avenue. The route was designed to avoid active construction zones.

“The Canada Day parade is such a meaningful part of community life in Airdrie and a tradition that brings generations together,” says Mayor Heather Spearman. “Even with construction underway, our commitment remains the same: to make sure this year’s parade is safe, fun, and something our residents and local businesses can continue to look forward to. I’m really looking forward to seeing our community come together once again along the updated route.”

Registration for parade participants opens May 1, 2026, through the Airdrie Parade committee.
