2026 Airdrie Business Survey results

AIRDRIE, ALBERTA – The City of Airdrie’s 2026 Business Survey shows 85 per cent of respondents are satisfied in owning and operating a business in Airdrie.

The online and phone survey was conducted from February 23 to March 13, 2026. The survey was open to all licensed Airdrie-based businesses. A random sample phone or online survey was completed by 488 businesses. The total response rate for the survey was 15 per cent, which is very high in the market research industry. The results have a high level of accuracy with a margin of error of +/-4.06 per cent at the 95 per cent confidence level and statistically represents the business community in Airdrie.

“We want to thank the business community for taking the time to complete the survey and share their feedback,” says Tara Levick, Economic Development Officer. “The results show a positive outlook among Airdrie businesses, with many expressing cautious optimism about the year ahead.”

Survey Highlights:

  • 85 per cent satisfaction of owning and operating a business in Airdrie
  • 82 per cent satisfaction working with the City of Airdrie for matters that pertain to their business
  • 56 per cent expect revenues to increase and 30 per cent expect their revenues to remain the same in the next 12 months
  • 17 per cent expect to hire staff and 74 per cent expect to maintain staffing levels over the next 12 months
  • 64 commercial businesses expect to expand in the next 24 months
  • 61 home-based businesses expect to expand in the next 24 months
  • Top priorities for Airdrie businesses include: cost and availability of office/commercial/industrial space and land, access to health care services and planning and development processes
