Positive Directions Program

Positive Directions is a youth resilience program designed to prevent and address bullying, violence, and gang involvement among youth aged 11-18 in Airdrie. The program utilizes a holistic, evidence-based approach to reduce vulnerabilities and strengthen protective factors to guide youth towards positive choices. Through mentorship, skill-building, and community collaboration, Positive Directions empowers youth to develop resilience, build healthy relationships, and actively engage in their community.

In 2024, the City of Airdrie received funding through Public Safety Canada’s Building Safer Communities Fund. This grant supports local efforts to prevent youth involvement in violence, bullying, and gang activity by focusing on early intervention and community-based supports.

One of the key initiatives made possible through this funding is the Positive Directions program, developed in collaboration with the City of Airdrie, the RCMP, Rocky View Schools, and BGC Airdrie. Together, we are working to create safer, more supportive environments where young people can thrive.
