The 2026 SMARTstart cohort is well underway. Participants have completed orientation, connected with mentors and begun working toward their business goals. Through workshops, training and one-on-one mentorship, they are building skills, expanding networks and turning ideas into action. Fil Rodriguez owns Airdrie Laundromat, providing self-serve laundry, wash-and-fold service, pickup and delivery, commercial laundry, alterations and dry cleaning to residents and businesses in Airdrie. Fil is paired with mentor Darcy Forbes, VP and COO, Vitreous Glass Inc.

Kristina Cameron – Sprawl Boxing Inc.
Sprawl Boxing Inc. offers an inclusive, beginner-friendly fitness environment where people of all abilities can improve their health, build confidence and learn boxing in a supportive community. Kristina is paired with mentor Kelly Paisley, CEO, The I.T. Company Ltd.

Joel Rodda – Lazy J Gin Beverage
Lazy J Gin Beverage began as a homemade infusion project and is evolving into a unique ready-to-drink gin-based beverage with plans for future craft distillery development. Joel is paired with mentor Ankur Goklaney, Realtor, Ankur Goklaney Realty | CIR Realty | BuySellHomesYYC.

Heather Campbell – Legacy Health
Legacy Health is a new family medical clinic focused on women’s health, bringing together primary care services and specialized support to address local healthcare needs. Heather is paired with mentor Jo-Anne Yau, Innovations Lawyer, Miles Davison LLP.
