Airdrie youth invited to apply for funding through the Airdrie Youth Impact Grant

Airdrie, AB – The City of Airdrie is encouraging young leaders, innovators and changemakers to turn their ideas into action through the Airdrie Youth Impact Grant. Youth ages 12 to 18 can apply for up to $1,500 in funding to support projects and initiatives that make a positive impact on young people in the community.

Administered through Youth Central, the Airdrie Youth Impact Grant supports youth-led projects that foster connection, inclusion, well-being and community engagement. Whether it's a community event, peer-support initiative, creative project or other idea designed to benefit local youth, the grant provides funding and support to help bring those ideas to life.

“Young people have incredible ideas, unique perspectives and a strong desire to make a difference,” says Mayor Heather Spearman. “The Airdrie Youth Impact Grant empowers youth to take the lead on projects they are passionate about while helping build a stronger, more connected community. I encourage Airdrie youth to dream big, share their ideas and take advantage of this opportunity to create meaningful change.”

The grant program supports projects that are:

• Youth-led and youth-driven
• Located in Airdrie
• Designed to directly benefit Airdrie youth
• Planned and implemented by youth ages 12 to 18, with adult support permitted where appropriate

“We know Airdrie youth are creative, passionate and community-minded,” says Jessica Dudek, Youth Engagement Specialist. “This grant gives them the opportunity to turn their ideas into tangible projects that create positive change. When young people lead the way, they strengthen our community and inspire others to get involved.”

To help youth learn more about the program, the City of Airdrie, Mayor Heather Spearman and members of the Airdrie Board of Youth Affairs (ABYA) are hosting the Airdrie Youth Impact Grant Workshop on Oct. 8, 2026 at 4:30 p.m. Participants will learn about the application process, hear from previous grant recipients and have the opportunity to connect one-on-one with ABYA members for guidance and support as they develop their applications.

Applications for the Airdrie Youth Impact Grant are accepted monthly from February through June and September through October with up to $1500 available in funding with amounts varying throughout the year.
